Digital Bridges Across America in Miniature: A 529 Journey

National Association of State Treasurers · 2025 Treasury Management Training Symposium. Matt Anthes and I co-led a session on building connection, trust, and enrollment in 529 plans, using Maryland’s diverse communities as a blueprint. We explored mixed-methods audience research, human-centered digital innovation, storytelling, and transcreation: adapting language, imagery, and tone to reflect the people we aim to reach.

The Future of Brand, Marketing, and Influence in an AI-Driven World

October 24, 2024 · DC Startup & Tech Week. Panel led by Matt Anthes, with Brandon Andrews, Jordan Karp, Sid Chakravarthy, and me representing The Hatcher Group. We explored how AI is reshaping branding, marketing, and influence. My contribution focused on authentic brand voice, human-centered design, and ethical, inclusive creative practices.

AIGA DC Fellow Award Program

May 22, 2021 · Virtual celebration, 12:00–1:30 p.m. ET. Recipient of the 2021 AIGA DC Fellow Award. I also delivered remarks at the award program. The award recognized my contributions to design practice, education, mentorship, and the Washington, DC creative community, including my longstanding service to the Design Continuum Fund. The Fellow Award honors designers whose work and service advance the standards of the profession and their regional design community.

AIGA DC / Work–Life Balance for Parents

AIGA DC panel on raising children while growing a creative career during the pandemic. I joined Jessica Elliott, Marzia Motta, Ian McAllister, and clinical director and psychotherapist Kelly Gill, LCSW-C, to discuss successes, challenges, and lessons in work-life balance. The conversation brought creative parents’ experiences together with a mental health perspective on self-care and support.
