Translate Research into Priorities
Use the findings about the older application to focus the redesign on usage visibility and account management. Establish what users need to understand and access from the dashboard.

PD In Focus is ASCD’s online professional-learning platform, built around videos of teaching practices in action. Research indicated that the older application needed an upgrade, particularly in how it communicated usage and supported account management. The redesign needed to give users a clearer view of their activity and a more understandable dashboard for managing the account.
This was a product design project with substantial UX and interface design work. The research findings established the priorities: clearer usage information, a stronger account-management dashboard, and a more coherent application experience. Wireframes and design comps translated those needs into screen structure, information hierarchy, and full application designs. Playlists and enhanced assignment capabilities supported how educators organized and used professional-learning content.
Product design, with responsibility for art direction and user experience. I helped translate the research-identified needs into the dashboard and application experience, connecting UX decisions with the visual direction of the redesigned product.

Wireframes, design comps, full application designs, a user guide, and supporting social media, advertising, and marketing materials.
The requirements connected the redesign to practical user needs: a mobile-friendly experience, clearer account information, and more self-service options. Those priorities gave the interface work a purpose beyond a visual refresh, helping organize the dashboard and administrative experience around the tasks educators and account managers needed to complete.
The Approach
Use the findings about the older application to focus the redesign on usage visibility and account management. Establish what users need to understand and access from the dashboard.
Develop wireframes and interface designs that give usage information and account-management functions a clearer hierarchy. Connect the dashboard with playlists and assignment capabilities across the application.
Extend the product work into a user guide and supporting communications that explain the redesigned experience and its features.

The Result
The project delivered a redesigned application experience centered on a clearer dashboard, usage information, and account management, alongside playlists and enhanced assignment capabilities. Wireframes, full application designs, and a user guide connected the product’s structure, visual design, and user guidance. The work demonstrates how research findings can shape practical UX priorities and carry through into a complete interface design.
